The Dean Martin Show

DVD Hunters is pleased to offer the complete collection of The Dean Martin Variety Show, a masterpiece variety and comedy show featuring the renowned singer and performer Dean Martin. The series originally ran from 1965 to 1974, airing 245 sixty-minute episodes over nine series. The show was originally broadcast by NBC and was directed by Bill Colleran and Greg Garrison. The theme song of the show was Dean Martin's hit "Everybody Loves Somebody." This Dean Martin Show is a piece of television history that helped redefine the variety show genre. The show was characterized by its informal, spontaneous, and sometimes unprofessional feel, which, in part, was a result from a lack of rehearsal, a requirement established by Dean Martin himself. Regardless, the impulsive and unstructured nature of the show created an interesting and natural performance that audiences loved. Each show features a variety of sketches and performances, including a special production featuring Dean Martin and a guest star who would also help host the show. The Dean Martin Show guest starts included such celebrities as John Wayne, Bill Cosby, Bing Crosby, Jonathan Winters, Frank Sinatra, and Lucille Ball. The Dean Martin Show's brilliant improv, comedy sketches, and performances made it a quality program that did not go unrecognized. It was often one of the top ten programs in the country, and in 1967, Dean Martin won the Golden Globe award for Best TV Star for his work on the show. The Dean Martin Show was also nominated for a whopping 20 other Golden Globe, Emmy, and DGA awards. Any Dean Martin fan would love this DVD of The Dean Martin Show. Perhaps no other product as completely showcases the legendary performer singing, dancing, acting, and performing comedy. And the entire digitally remastered set is available for only $99.95, four hundred dollars cheaper than the original price!
